I will pour out my Spirit on all people.

Joel 2:28

About

The Outpour Center is a nondenominational church founded on Joel 2:28, “I will pour out my Spirit on all people.” Established in 2010 by Dr. Resia Thompson, The Outpour Center exists to fill the earth with the glory of God by the power of Holy Spirit (Num. 14:21; Acts 2:17). We carry out that mission in ways that advance the Kingdom, empower the believer, and revolutionize the community.

Focus Areas

The outpour promised in Joel 2 is first revealed in Acts 2, and The Outpour Center is an Acts church. The focus points of Acts 2 are foundational to our ministry.

Acts 2 Emphases

Holy Spirit

1.

Acts 2:4 - They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

We are a church that honors the person, fruit, and ministry of Holy Spirit. We take part in that ministry through Spirit-inspired word, Spirit-filled worship, Spirit-led fellowship, and Spirit-empowered discipleship.

The Word of God

2.

Acts 2:16 - This is what was spoken by the prophet Joel.

We are a Word church! We hold Scripture in the highest regard and we believe God speaks through the written, preached, and prophetic word. We teach and model biblical concepts that give revelation for life application.

Worship

3.

Acts 2:46 (TLB) - They worshiped together regularly at the Temple each day.

We are a body of worshipers. We express worship in church services, missional ministry, and a sustained Christian witness.

Discipleship

4.

Acts 2:42 - They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching.

We are a teaching ministry. We endeavor to make Spirit-filled disciples who fulfill God’s ordained purpose, love the Lord with all, and love their neighbors as themselves.

Fellowship

5.

Acts 2:42 (CSB) - They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.

We believe fellowship is central to Christian formation and our collective witness. Fellowship is not only the ongoing gathering of believers for spiritual, social, and service-oriented occasions, but also the sharing of one another’s joys, sufferings, burdens, and blessings.

Service

6.

Acts 2:45 (VOICE) - They sold any possessions and goods that did not benefit the community and used the money to help everyone in need.

We believe in revealing the gospel of Jesus Christ in ways that meet spiritual and practical needs.

Unity

7.

Acts 2:1 - They were all with one accord in one place.

The Outpour Center is one of four ministries under the leadership of Dr. Resia Thompson. Together, we make up a body of churches that serves different communities while maintaining the spirit of unity.
